I had to critique her new site

This probably won’t surprise you, Reader –

But one of my favorite things to do is explore the fresh functionality and design of high-profile personal brands. The people who are making 7-8 figures and usually setting trends.

While there are a few I’ve kept an eye on for years, my go-to has always been Jenna Kutcher, Digital Marketing Expert and host of the Goal Digger Podcast.

Her website has always felt like I was sitting down for coffee with a down-to-earth, creative friend who was kind and real. Plus, she's always been ahead of the game with design, which I love.

She was one of the first to use b-roll video on her home page, her photography has always been so alive and stunning, and her design choices are straight up genius.

As you can imagine, I was really excited when she announced a rebrand this year. Oooo, I wonder what she’ll come up with this time around.

Then, the launch date came; I saw the IG announcement and immediately clicked over to her brand-new site.

My first thought was, “Wow, stunning.”

Loved the colors.
Loved the images.
Loved the fonts.

But… as I scrolled through the homepage, I couldn’t help noticing a few flaws. Not in the design and functionality, but with the messaging. That, and I couldn’t feel the real Jenna anymore.

Then, an idea arrived that felt a little bold… I have to record a critique of Jenna’s new site.

And that’s what I’ve done in this week’s episode of the podcast.

Inside, I talk about:

  • An ego-centric trend that I see high-profile entrepreneurs embracing on their websites and why I think it’s a huge mistake
  • The details on why Jenna’s homepage header, logo, and messaging are missing the mark and leaving a huge opportunity on the table
  • And more!

As a copywriter, I can’t help identifying the ways anyone’s website can improve its messaging, connect more intimately with their reader, and clearly convey the value of what they do.

That’s why I recently launched a new offering called
The Brand Audit.

This is a unique opportunity to get my advice on how to optimize your whole online presence so that it performs for you, a.k.a. builds trust and inspires people to take action!

The best part? It’s only $97.

So, if you hear my feedback on Jenna's site and think, "Wow, it would be so helpful for Blair to review my site too"... The Brand Audit is a no-brainer.

Big hug,
Blair
